Genuine Wound Badge in Black in very good condition,manufacturer 118 August Menz & Sohn Wien.The Wound Medal was a German military decoration first issued by Wilhelm II, German Emperor, on 3 March 1918, originally awarded to soldiers of the German Army who were wounded during World War I. Between the world wars, it was awarded to members of the German armed forces who fought on the Nationalist side in the Spanish Civil War, 1938–39, and received battle-related injuries. In September 1939, Adolf Hitler reinstated the decoration, with the most significant change being the helmet.3rd class, for those wounded once or twice by hostile action (including air raids).
