The War Merit Medal was a German military decoration of World War II awarded to recognize outstanding civilian service in connection with the war effort. It was established on 19 August 1940 and was usually awarded to those factory workers who significantly exceeded work quotas. The War Merit Medal was awarded only to German and non-German citizens, and to both men and women. It was closely related to the War Merit Cross, which could be awarded to military personnel and civilians for outstanding service to the war effort.The medal is in excellent condition with an original ribbon measuring 14 centimeters long, with envelope  by Friedrich Ort Wien.
