The Iron Cross clasp was a white metal clasp that adorned the uniforms of German Wehrmacht personnel who had been awarded the Iron Cross in World War I and who were eligible for the award again in World War II. To allow the simultaneous use of the two decorations, a 1939 Clasp ( Spange ) was introduced and worn with the original 1914 Iron Cross. For the Second Class, the clasp was attached to the ribbon of the 1914 Iron Cross.
